We can’t see harmful microplastics coming out of our washing machines, but they are almost certainly there. Washing machines don’t have filters to catch them so they go into all water systems including our food and drinking water and the ecosystems around us.
Our speaker is Mojca Zupan, who is dedicated to providing a practical solution.
The Talk:
Mojca will share the story of how the team at PlanetCare designed a successful microfibre filter to go on to your washing machine and catch the microfibres from your laundry. It’s part of a circular process as they collect all used cartridges and ensure the microfibres are recycled into insulation, concrete reinforcement, or furniture. Above all that they do not get released into the water system.

The Speaker

Mojca is the founder, CEO and heart and soul of PlanetCare. Her passion for a cleaner environment doesn’t let her stop for a minute and the planet without her would be (even more) full with microfibres. A corporate lawyer in her past life, she changed her career after seeing a photo exhibition on marine litter with her kids. Being a mother of three, she takes our responsibility for the kind of planet we leave to future generations very seriously. And that is pretty much how the PlanetCare filters were born.
They now have 10,000s of active users across the world and growing. Join the conversation about how you can stop your microfibres from reaching the sea. Come along and put your questions to Mojca – she will share her knowledge, and her infectious enthusiasm!
